Engaged in Playa del Carmen

OK new update to this blog. Quick one.

Just got back from Playa del Carmen, Mexico, on the Yucatan Pennninsula. It was a wonderful trip, and ES and I got engaged!!! Photos from the trip are here:

The bride and groom are our friends from college, now living in Chicago. They were having their destination wedding here, and I'm so glad we went. This area is more relaxed than the party atmosphere of Cancun.

We couldn't see a sunset over the ocean, so we saw a sunrise instead (pages 5 & 6). Temperatures were between 65 and 85 the whole time, with wind most of the time. It was humid, and nice. Enjoy!

I think Duty Free is a big scam - one digital camera I saw at the DutyFree store is 50% less if purchased online.

School is almost over - my last lecture was today, and finals are next week. I'll be glad to have this behind me. Still no work on whether my out-of-sequence coursework will count towards my MSEE or not. In the mean time, I'm registered to take an IP Law class for the spring over the USC distance education network. I'm excited to dig into a new topic of study after such an intensive year in engineering.

Work is going well - holiday party is tomorrow. Looking forward to be able to focus on work without the distraction of school. You get out what you put in.

Ran a 5K race over Halloween weekend - that was fun. And planning on doing a Mt. Baldy hike on the 16th of December.
